An Early Childhood Musicianship Course
For ages 5&6
What Is Music Pathways?
Designed for children ages 5–6, Music Pathways: Discovery is the first course in our new Music Pathways musicianship program. Through singing, movement, games, listening activities, instrument exploration, and hands-on learning, students develop the foundational musical skills that prepare them for future success in piano, guitar, voice, drums, bass, and other instrumental study.
Rather than focusing on one instrument too early, Music Pathways helps children build the musical confidence, listening skills, rhythmic accuracy, pitch awareness, and music literacy readiness that make learning an instrument more enjoyable and successful when they're developmentally ready—typically around ages 7–8.
Each 17-week semester features new songs, games, instruments, and musical concepts while continually reinforcing core musicianship skills. Students may enroll in either the Fall or Spring Discovery semester independently, though completing both provides the greatest benefit. A companion course, Music Pathways: Exploration, is planned for Fall 2027 for students ready to continue their musical journey.
Weekly home activities, completed with parent support, help reinforce concepts learned in class and encourage music-making beyond the classroom.

By registering for Music Pathways, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the following policies:
Enrollment & Tuition

Enrollment is for the full 17-week semester.

Monthly tuition payments are installment payments toward the full semester's tuition and do not represent month-to-month enrollment.

Tuition reserves your child's place in class and is not based on attendance. Missed classes cannot be credited, refunded, or made up.
Attendance

Because each lesson builds on previous concepts, consistent attendance is encouraged.

If your child misses a class, please complete the assigned home activities to help them stay on pace with the class.
Home Learning

Weekly music listening and completion of assigned home activities are an important part of the Music Pathways curriculum and support steady musical growth.
Program Progression

Students are encouraged to complete the full Music Pathways sequence to gain the greatest benefit from the program. However, each semester is designed as a complete course and may be taken independently.
Performances
-
Performance opportunities, if offered, will be announced during the semester.
Instrument Checkout
-
If students are permitted to take a class instrument home, families will be required to complete a separate Instrument Checkout Agreement before the instrument may leave the studio.
